Is RKY NFC free to use?
Yes. RKY NFC is completely free with no advertisements, no tracking, and no subscriptions. All tag reading, writing, inspection, templates, and history features are included at no cost.
What types of NFC tags and standards does the app support?
RKY NFC supports standard NDEF-compliant tags including NFC Forum Types 1–5, ISO/IEC 14443 Type A & B, ISO/IEC 15693, Mifare Classic/Ultralight, and NTAG series (e.g. NTAG213, NTAG215, NTAG216).
What types of data can I write to an NFC tag?
You can encode URLs/links, plain text messages, Wi-Fi network login configurations (SSID and password), vCard contact cards, email compositions, and custom raw payloads.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Yes. Scanning NFC tags, writing records, managing templates, and viewing logs operate completely offline on your device without requiring internet access.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. RKY NFC is built privacy-first. All scan histories, custom templates, and settings are stored locally on your device in AsyncStorage. No user accounts are needed, and no tag data is ever transmitted to external servers.
How do tag templates work?
Templates let you save reusable payloads (such as office Wi-Fi, business websites, or digital contact cards) so you can quickly encode multiple physical tags without re-typing data.
How can I clear or delete my saved tag history and templates?
You can delete individual history logs and templates by swiping or opening options, or permanently erase all app data at once using the Danger Zone in the Settings tab.
