Introduction
RKY Asset Vault ("we", "us", or "the App") is a personal asset and warranty tracker designed to help you manage your home inventory and purchase records. We value your privacy and believe in a transparent, tracker-free mobile experience. This policy details how your data is handled.
Data Collection & Privacy
- No Personal Data Collected: The App does not require user registration or accounts. We do not collect, capture, or transmit personal details such as names, contact info, device IDs, or tracking metrics.
- Local Storage of Belongs: All configurations you set—including item details, brands, categories, purchase pricing, warranty periods, custom rooms, receipt images, manual PDFs, and settings—are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to these settings, and they never leave your device.
- iCloud Key-Value Sync: The App uses Apple's iCloud storage services to sync your databases and files across your own iOS devices automatically. This sync is handled entirely through your personal iCloud account. We do not host, store, or have access to any data synced to iCloud.
- Support Communications: If you contact us directly via email for support, we will use your email address and message contents solely to reply to your inquiry. This information is never shared with third parties or used for marketing.
- Contact form on rky.app: We use the contact form hosted at rky.app to receive and respond to user inquiries related to the App. When you submit the contact form, you may voluntarily provide personal data, including but not limited to your name, email address, and any other information you elect to supply (collectively, "Contact Information"). We collect and process Contact Information solely for the limited purposes of responding to your inquiry, providing customer support, and otherwise communicating with you about your request. We retain Contact Information only as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes and to satisfy applicable legal obligations.
Device Permissions
To provide a premium home inventory companion, the app utilizes system capabilities which operate within strict privacy boundaries:
- Camera Access: Used to snap photos of items, take receipt images, and access the simulated viewfinder for barcode scanning.
- Photo Library: Used to let you select existing photos of receipts or items to save in your local inventory database.
- Biometrics / Local Authentication: Face ID or Passcode verification is processed entirely at the system level to lock and secure access to your local vault. We do not receive, store, or have access to any biometric data.
- Notifications: Used to schedule local alerts that warn you when a warranty is expiring soon. Reminders are generated locally on your device.
Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers / IDFA and Android's Advertising ID), usage data, and app performance/diagnostics data. Non-personalized ads are requested. You can manage ad permissions through your device settings.
- In-App Purchases: All transactions are processed securely by Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store any payment details.
- Expo Updates: The App uses Expo's over-the-air update service to deliver JavaScript bundle updates. This service does not collect personal data.
Your Rights and Controls
- You can modify, duplicate, or delete items inside the inventory tab at any time.
- Uninstalling the app from your device will permanently erase all locally stored items and receipt records. Data synchronized to your iCloud will persist in your private cloud space unless cleaned up separately through your iCloud settings.
