Introduction
RKY Kids Growth Tracker ("we", "us", or "the App") is a privacy-first mobile application designed to help parents and guardians record, track, and cherish the growth journey of their children. We are deeply committed to protecting your family's privacy. The App is designed to operate entirely offline — all your data is saved locally on your device, with an optional private backup via Apple's iCloud storage, fully under your control. We do not operate any servers, databases, or backend systems that receive your personal data.
Data We Store (Locally, On Your Device)
All data entered into the App is stored exclusively on your device using AsyncStorage (a local on-device database). We have no access to this data. The following information may be stored:
- Child Profiles: Your children's names, dates of birth, gender, and avatars (emoji or photos chosen from your camera or photo library).
- Growth Measurements: Logged height (cm/in), weight (kg/lbs), shoe size (EU/UK/US), measurement dates, and optional personal notes for each log entry.
- Memory Milestones: Optional milestone dates and details you choose to record, including first word, first steps, first tooth, first friend, crawling, riding a bike, and school start date.
- Vaccination Records: Vaccine names, due dates, taken dates, and optional notes for each child's vaccination history.
- App Settings: Your preferred measurement units, iCloud backup preferences, reminder frequency, and reminder time.
- Premium Status: A local flag indicating whether you have unlocked Premium access via a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
iCloud Backup & Sync
If you enable iCloud Backup in the App Settings, your child profiles, growth records, vaccination records, and settings will be synchronised to your personal iCloud account using Apple's native iCloud Key-Value Storage (KVS). This sync is entirely private to your Apple ID — the developer has no access to your iCloud storage or the data contained within it.
Disabling iCloud Backup in Settings stops all future syncing. Your data will continue to be stored locally on your device. You can manage or delete iCloud data independently through your Apple device's System Settings under your Apple ID.
Device Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions to provide specific features:
- Camera: Requested optionally to allow you to take a photo for a child's profile avatar. Photos captured are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
- Photo Library: Requested optionally to allow you to choose an existing photo from your library for a child's profile avatar. Selected images are stored locally and never transmitted externally.
- Notifications: Requested optionally to deliver local on-device reminders to measure your child's growth at your chosen frequency (monthly, every 3 months, or every 6 months). All notification scheduling is performed locally. No notification data is sent to external servers.
In-App Purchases and Subscriptions (Premium)
The App offers optional Premium features (e.g., advanced milestones, vaccination tracking, and PDF reports) available via auto-renewing subscriptions (Monthly or Yearly) or a one-time Lifetime Premium purchase.
All purchases and subscription transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or process any payment card details or billing information. Apple's own privacy policy governs all payment transactions.
Your premium unlock status is stored as a local flag on your device and, if iCloud Backup is enabled, synced to your private iCloud account to allow restoring across your devices.
Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store: Used for app distribution and in-app purchase processing. Apple's privacy policy governs all related transactions.
- Apple iCloud: Used optionally for private data backup if you choose to enable iCloud Backup. Your data remains private to your Apple ID.
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as Apple's Advertising Identifier / IDFA), usage data, and app performance/diagnostics data. You can manage personalized ad permissions using your iOS device tracking settings.
- Support Contact: If you contact us by email for support, we collect your email address and message content solely to respond to your query. This information is never shared or used for advertising.
Data Security & Ownership
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you retain complete ownership and control. Aside from Google AdMob's standard advertising and diagnostics SDK, we do not employ other third-party analytics trackers, databases, or libraries within the App.
We have no ability to access, view, recover, or restore your data. Please ensure you have iCloud Backup enabled or another backup method if you wish to preserve your records.
- Data Deletion (In-App): You can permanently delete all child profiles, growth records, vaccination logs, milestone data, and settings at any time by tapping "Reset All Data" in the Settings screen. This action is irreversible.
- Data Deletion (Uninstall): Deleting the App from your device removes all locally stored data. Any data synced to iCloud can be managed separately from your Apple device's System Settings under iCloud Storage.
Children's Privacy
This App is designed for use by parents and guardians to track their children's growth. While the App stores information about children (such as names and measurements), all of this data remains on your personal device or your private iCloud account. We do not collect, receive, or process any personal data about children on our servers. No data is transmitted to us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features or applicable regulations. Any updates will be reflected by a new "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
